10U, 12U, 14U, and 16U players seeking to train or experience a travel softball practice with Storm are welcome. We can accommodate a limited number of non-rostered players per practice. Dropping into a practice for roster consideration allows for a deeper assessment of a player as opposed to open tryouts in July.

Practice drop-in cost is $35 per indoor practice during Winter training. We will have 26 available sessions from January 11, 2026 through March 12, 2026, on Sunday afternoons, Tuesdays 6-8pm, and Thursdays 6-8pm.

For those that want to attend all 26 sessions, $450 would cover all 26 sessions (a 50% discount).

Winter training will be held at Academy Sports Complex in Thorndale.

Open tryouts are on or about July 18th and July 19th in Exton, PA each year. Prospects only have to attend one session. Annual tryouts in July of each year are free.

What can you expect at practice?

Practices are based on developmental need at the given time. In general, however, you will see the following depending on the day:

  1. Jog, Stretch, Catch
  2. Hitting – Tee, Soft/Side Toss, Microball, Pitching machine, Pitcher live pitch
  3. Pitching
  4. Infield
  5. Outfield
  6. Position-specific training (e.g. Catcher, 1B, middle infield, outfield)
  7. Baserunning
