Storm Softball is a competitive, fast pitch, travel softball team based in Downingtown, PA. Downingtown Storm is the softball team for Downingtown West Girls Athletics (DWGA), a 509a2 public charity organized as a nonprofit corporation in the state of Pennsylvania.
The team was formed to provide an opportunity for girls in the Downingtown area to play in a more competitive environment. Our goal is to maximize player development so that each player has the best chance to be selected for their high school team, while having fun playing the game.
Please visit the Downingtown West Girls Athletics Donation page and consider making a tax-deductible donation as an individual or from your company to help reduce the financial barrier for young female athletes.
All of our coaches are parent volunteers who have played either softball or baseball at the collegiate or high school levels. We prioritize player position assignments, batting order, and playing time based on merit alone. The players that demonstrate the best performance earn their pitching, fielding, and batting order assignments.
The Storm practice on Downingtown Area School District fields, surrounding indoor training facilities, and West Bradford Township fields. We play in tournaments primarily within 75 minutes of Downingtown, PA. There is an appropriate year-end (July) national or championship tournament that may be up to 3-7 hours away.
Take the next step in player development and experience travel softball!
